Kelly Corrigan Wonders presents Can Do Moms, a four-part series that features mothers navigating family life on the thinnest of margins and coming up strong. Kelly sits down with women like Cortney, a 40-year-old disabled Army veteran in Arkansas expecting her first child while living on $9,540 a year in VA benefits; Briana, a domestic violence survivor who gave birth while living in a shelter and went on to graduate from CUNY Brooklyn College, now pursuing a Master of Public Administration in Government and Policy; Chelsea, a city bus driver whose income vanished the moment her son was born, exposing how little safety net exists for essential workers; and Ariela, a mother keeping vigil at her infant son's hospital bedside while raising her six-year-old and trying to pursue a Master's in Social Work. Each conversation asks the same questions: What does it take to flourish in America? What builds a mother's capacity to do the essential and unseen work of parenting? Can Do Moms introduces rarely heard voices to listeners across the country, offering an intimate window into lives too often overlooked.

This four-part series of one-hour public radio specials is available for free to stations on PRX — October 2, 2026 through March 31, 2027 — with new episodes released weekly (Oct 2 - Oct 23, 2026). Can Do Moms may be aired as a limited-run series, or as stand-alone specials. Episodes are part of the weekly public radio program Kelly Corrigan Wonders and use a standard broadcast clock. Can Do Moms was created in partnership with The Bridge Project, the nation's first multi-state direct cash program for moms and babies.
